This forthcoming weekend - Sunday 7th through to Tuesday 9th sees the Model and Hobby Show take place in Coventry. This is the most important trade show of the year where many manufactures announce forthcoming releases as well as showing off prototypes of 2010 forthcoming releases.

Bachmann announces Irish Set for Autumn release - Tuesday 19 January, 2010
modelshopbelfast.com is always working closely with manufacturers exploring options for new releases with a local or Irish basis.
We are delighted to announce Bachmann will be producing an Irish set for Autumn 2010. Prices will be confirmed in March but the expected retail price will be in the region of £115 - £120. This will include Two car Irish DMU, oval of track and siding, controller and transformer.
We'd like to say thank you for the feedback from everyone who sent us emails, facebooked, phoned or called with your thoughts, the decision to proceed with the set has been based solely on the feedback received. This will be an ideal set for those wanting to get into model railways - especially irish modelling.
For the seasoned modeller we will also be offering the set as a two car unit only without the track and controller. Prices will be confirmed in March but the retail price of the two car set is expected to be in the region of £90-95

Auto ballasters and IPA transporter wagons
Bachmann have just released pre production shots of the new autoballasters, have to say they look fantastic!
The intricate pipe work, fine detailed hand rails, metal brass canopies and discharge doors, plus a wealth of internal brake equipment detail. The models represent the Mark 2 version of wagon, and are made available in three variants. Item number 38-210 pictured is a wagon incorporating a generator to provide power for lighting and discharge chute operation.
The non-generator variants are available either with a curved or flat top profile.
Item number 38-211 is pictured exhibiting the flat top variant.
The IPA transporters, looks like Bachmann have come up trumps again! The two wagons are permanently coupled to form a pair. The models include some unique features such prototypical translucent screens to protect the vehicles, a moving loading ramp and a fully detailed storage deck.

modelshopbelfast.com is delighted to announce that Creative Master Northcord Limited is to the release of Alexander Dennis Enviro200Dart IE0004, utilising the 10.7m long wheelbase model with gasket windows to represent the distinctive modern single-decker in the UK and Ireland, that carries Bus Eireann standard livery. IE0004 represents Bus Eireann fleet number AM103 (09-D-3732), based at Dundalk depot on service 174 heading for Fatima Park.
Bus Eireann was established in 1987 as a subsidiary of Coras lompair Eireann – the state-owned national transport organization of Ireland. The company operates a wide range of services; these include long distance coach services, local services in rural areas, commuter service networks and urban services in cities and towns. The company is also responsible for the management and provision of a nationwide school transport scheme. Bus Eireann has a fleet of over 1,300 vehicles based at 11 principal depots and employs almost 3.000 people.
The 2008 fleet upgrade programme included four Alexander Dennis Enviro200Dart 10.7m single deckers for urban services specified with 38 seats and one wheelchair space. Two are allocated to Dundalk depot for the town service linking the bus station with Fatima Park, a large housing estate named in commemoration of the Marian Shrine at Fatima in Portugal.
IE0004 models have certain innovative designs. One of the new features, first seen on Bus Eireann’s Enviro200Dart vehicles and replicated on the model, is the brand new design of the mirrors on both sides and IE0004 is currently representing 100% the correct items as the real bus. The nearside mirror is an extended version of the mirror first replicated on UK8014.
The Alexander Dennis Enviro200Dart IE0004 is a one-piece casting whose clean lines accentuate the square-mounted, bonded windows and the livery application on which all logos and lettering are clearly legible. Creative Master Northcord is creating new design standards in the layout of the interior in the replica. These features inside the compartment represent the really outstanding layout of the Enviro200Dart, such as the luggage rack on the wheel arch at the front near side at the front, additional seats on the wheel arch on the offside, and extensive portrayal of handrails in the compartment.
